PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE

To engage our Services as a User, you must be a registered account holder. As a User, you may record conversations using our mobile application. 

 

This Privacy Policy provides you with a description of the types of information we collect about you when you use the Service, and how we use that information. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

 

We use your Personal Information for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service and User Agreement, accessible at https://www.storied.ai/terms

While using the Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that we may use to contact or identify you, and help make your Storied.ai experience more personal. 

 

Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your email address, name, phone number and other information from which your identity may be discernible ("Personal Information").  If you fail to provide certain Personal Information when requested, we may not be able to perform the Services to you, or we may be prevented from complying with our legal obligations.

 

Any information you provide about your child, including first name and birthdate, is requested to improve the quality of the Service (e.g. sending you better questions).  Storied.ai is not intended for use for anyone under the age of 13. For more details, please see CHILDREN’S PRIVACY.

 

Data you provide to Storied.ai, in the form of recorded audio, questions, milestones, or timeline entries, is private to you, provided that Storied.ai may disclose such information to authorized Storied.ai team members in order to provide account maintenance, customer service, enhancements, and other related activities.

Your Personal Information

What we collect:

• Storied.ai collects data, including Personal Information that you provide on our Services and as you use the Services. 

• Personal Information includes information that can be used to identify you as a natural person, directly or indirectly, in particular in combination with other information available to us such as an identification number, online identifier or one or more factors specific to your identity as a natural person.

• The Personal Information use and descriptions are outlined below.

Timeline Personalization Information

When you create a Timeline for a Storyteller, users in your private group may also include specific dates such as:

• Date of personal milestones including school graduation, and/or work anniversaries

Profile Information

Additional personal details that you provide in your profile (for example, a profile image, your name, age, location, etc.), will be visible to other Users who have access to your timeline.

User-Provided Content

• Information you provide about yourself or other living individuals when you voluntarily contribute to the Services.

• For example, you might contribute details (stories, images) about you or other users’ family trees, annotate content or records.

• Information about deceased persons is not Personal Information under this Privacy Statement.

 

Note about health-related information

Storied.ai is not a covered entity under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”), and as a result no Additional User Information provided by you is subject to or protected by HIPAA.

Your Communications

Your communications with other Users through our communications features, as well as the information you provide in communications with Storied.ai customer service and support teams for our other Services.

 

Why we collect it and how we use it:

• To create and support your account and provide you with Services.

• To communicate with you, for example, informing you about your account status, security updates and website and mobile application information.

• To contact you about features, products, services and other promotions that can enhance your use of the Services, in accordance with your communications preferences.

• To enforce compliance with our Terms.

 

How we retain it:

• We keep your email address and telephone number until you delete your account by sending an email to michael@storied.ai

Personal Information About Others

What we collect:

• When you (“Gift Giver” ) give Storied.ai as a gift to another user (“Storyteller”), you are asked to provide the Storyteller’s Personal Information which may include: name, telephone number, profile photo, and email address.

• Furthermore, you are asked to submit Storyteller data, such as life milestones, may include Personal Information, including, but not limited to: dates of Storyteller’s birth, marriage, family deaths, etc.

• You may also provide milestone information about other users such as family and friends which may include information including, but not limited to dates marriage, divorce, school graduation, and work anniversaries.

 

Why we collect it and how we use it:

• We collect milestones dates in order to personalize the Storyteller’s timeline.

 

How we retain it:

• We keep the Storyteller’s milestones dates until you delete your account by sending an email to michael@storied.ai.

Audio Recordings

What we collect:

• Audio recordings of you or conversations that you capture and upload using the services.

 

Why we collect it and how we use it:

• To create a transcript of the audio using Speech-to-Text transcription (automatic speech recognition). 

• We may process the resultant transcript to derive key phrases and other summary data and assign a speaker ID if the speaker is enrolled by the user.

• We may select segments of raw or partially processed audio and associated transcribed text from multiple recorded conversations from different Users of the Services to be used as training data to automatically train artificial intelligence (AI) technology. 

• We may manually transcribe certain recorded conversations to further enrich our training data.

• We may use aggregated and anonymized question content for conducting research, training algorithms, and providing automation features.

 

How we retain it:

• We store a copy of the recording, the associated transcript, speaker ID, key phrases and other related metadata until it is deleted by the user who uploaded the recording. If it is deleted by the user no record will be retained by Storied.ai.

Log Events

What we collect:

• All events related to the use of the Services including access, record, share, edit and delete events.

• When you use our services or view content provided by Storied.ai, we may automatically collect and store certain information in server logs. This may include:

  • Details of how you used our service, such as questions you replied to.

  • Telephone log information like your phone number, calling-party number, forwarding numbers, time and date of calls, duration of calls, SMS routing information and types of calls.

  • Internet protocol address.

  • Device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL.

 

Why we collect it and how we use it:

• Usage data is retained in log files to monitor the quality of service and to troubleshoot or respond to customer queries.

 

How we retain it:

• Log files are retained until you delete your account by sending an email to michael@storied.ai.

Mobile Device Information

What we collect:

• We may assign a unique user identifier (UUID) to each mobile device that accesses the Services and associate your device or phone number with your Storied.ai Account.

• We may collect carrier, language settings, operating system, manufacturer, mobile device ID number, mobile network information including phone number, country, location, and any other data you choose to provide.

• Certain services include a unique application number. This number and information about your installation (for example, the operating system type and application version number) may be sent to Storied.ai when you install or uninstall that service or when that service periodically contacts our servers, such as for automatic updates.

• We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s [bluetooth, calendar, camera, contacts, microphone, reminders, sensors, SMS messages, social media accounts, storage,] and other features.

 

Why we collect it and how we use it:

• We collect mobile device information as permissioned by the operating system. We use the UUID to retain status for users that login to the Services through the mobile application. We use other mobile device information for business intelligence and troubleshooting technical issues.

 

How we retain it:

• We store all device information until the user deletes their account or sends an email requesting that information be deleted to michael@storied.ai

Web Browser Information:

What we collect:

• We assign a unique cookie to your web browser when you log in as a user to the Services. 

• We use various technologies to collect and store information when you visit a Storied.ai Service, and this may include sending one or more cookies or anonymous identifiers to your device. 

• We may collect and store information (including Personal Information) locally on your device using mechanisms such as browser web storage (including HTML 5) and application data caches.

 

Why we collect it and how we use it:

• We use session cookies to retain login status and state in a particular session when using Storied.ai via a web browser.

• We use this information to offer you tailored content – like giving you more relevant questions. 

• We use information collected from cookies and other technologies, like pixel tags, to improve your user experience and the overall quality of our services.

 

How we retain it:

• We retain web cookies for up to two weeks whenever the user logs out of Services.

Location Information

What we collect:

• When you use a location-enabled Storied.ai service, we may collect and process information about your actual location, like GPS signals sent by a mobile device. 

• We may also use various technologies to determine location, such as sensor data from your device that may, for example, provide information on nearby Wi-Fi access points and cell towers.

• We may request access or permission to and track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using the Application, to provide location-based services. 

 

Why we collect it and how we use it:

• Location information may be used to localize story questions, e.g. to provide story prompts that are specific to a natural disaster or news event that occurred in your local area.

• We may also use this information to help us provide, operate, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services.

 

How we retain it:

• If you wish to change our access or permissions to location services, you may do so in your browser or device settings.

 

INFORMATION YOU SHARE

 

Content sharing

Many of our services let you share information with others. Our services provide you with different options on sharing and removing your content.

Accessing and updating your Personal Information

Whenever you use our services, we aim to provide you with access to your Personal Information. If that information is wrong, we strive to give you ways to update it quickly or to delete it – unless we have to keep that information for legitimate business or legal purposes. When updating your Personal Information, we may ask you to verify your identity before we can act on your request.

 

We may reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort (for example, developing a new system or fundamentally changing an existing practice), risk the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes).

 

When we can provide information access and correction, we will do so for free, except where it would require a disproportionate effort. We aim to maintain our services in a manner that protects information from accidental or malicious destruction. Because of this, after you delete information from our services, we may not immediately delete residual copies from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems.

We do not share Personal Information with companies, organizations and individuals outside of Storied.ai unless one of the following circumstances apply:

With your consent

We will share Personal Information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Storied.ai when we have your consent to do so. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive Personal Information.

 

For external processing

We provide Personal Information to our affiliates or other trusted businesses or persons to process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
 

How we share your Personal Information

We may share your personal information with our affiliate entities and other third-party business partners, providers, vendors or contractors acting on our behalf and under our instructions, whether located inside and outside of the European Union (“EU”) or the Economic Area (“EEA”), for the purposes of operating our business, delivering, improving, and customizing our Services, sending communications related to our business and Services, and when needed, with your consent.

Therefore, we may share Personal Information in the following ways:

• Within Storied.ai and any of our affiliate entities located inside or outside of the EU/EEA, for purposes of data processing or storage;

• With Storied.ai’s business partners, vendors, authorized third-party agents or contractors to provide our products and services or facilitate transactions. Examples include, but are not limited to: processing of orders, hosting websites, engineering and technical support.

• In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company;

• As the case may be, for further protection of your privacy, Storied.ai will share your Personal Information in aggregated and/or de-identified form that cannot be used to identify you

 

For legal reasons

Where mandated or permitted by applicable law, regulation or legal process, we will disclose your Personal Information to law enforcement officials, government authorities or other third parties, located inside and outside of the EU/EEA, where such disclosure is in accordance with due process of law and binding upon Storied.ai, to the extent necessary to comply with legal process or meet national security requirements, protect the rights, property, or safety of Storied.ai, its business partners, you, or others.

We will share Personal Information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Storied.ai if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

• Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.

• Enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.

• Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.

• Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Storied.ai, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

 

Aggregated information

We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners – like publishers, advertisers or connected sites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our services.

 

Sharing information with third parties

We use services provided by a number of third parties to process usage and certain device data for business intelligence and troubleshooting purposes.   Third-party services that collect, monitor and analyze this type of information in order to increase our Service's functionality. These include, but not limited to:

• Google Analytics: Detailed user event data from website. More information may be found at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

• Google Cloud Speech-to-Text: https://cloud.google.com/speech-to-text/docs/data-logging-terms

• Amazon Web Services: User data storage including audio files, photos, and other Personal Information.

 

These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these services on our behalf, and our third-party service providers are obligated to refrain from using or disclosing your Personal Information for any other purpose. Third parties may use cookies, web beacons, mobile device IDs or other unique identifiers to track your use of the Services.  We do not share login or Personal Information with third-party data processors.

 

These third-party service providers have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.
 

Information we share with your consent

We will not share Personal Information or Customer Data with others except as Customer requests per written instructions or by sending a message through the Website or Services, or as indicated herein, or except when we inform you in advance and give you the opportunity to opt out.

 

Content shared in a private group

Storied.ai is a platform for neighbors to share stories with loved ones. To that end, we make the Content you post on Storied.ai, such as posts, replies, recommendations, messages, and your profile information, visible to other Storied.ai members based on the preferences in your settings, the preferences on the Content you provide, and as described in this Policy. 

 

By default, your name, address and other information you add to your profile will be visible to members in your group.  You can limit the information visible to other Storied.ai members in your profile settings.

 

Legal and safety reasons

We may also share Personal Information or Customer Data as necessary to comply with legal or regulatory requirements and to respond to lawful requests, court orders and legal process, as well as, to protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of us or third parties, including enforcing contracts or policies, or in connection with investigating and preventing fraud.

 

Business Transaction

If Storied.ai is involved in a reorganization such as a merger, acquisition or asset sale, we may, in accordance with our legitimate interests, need to share information in the course of the transaction. In such circumstances, your information may be disclosed, where permitted by applicable law, in connection with a corporate restructuring, sale, or assignment of assets, merger, or other changes of control or financial status of Storied.ai.

 

We will continue to pursue the confidentiality of any Personal Information and give affected users notice before Personal Information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

 

If such an acquisition occurs, the successor company would have access to the information maintained by us, including your Personal Information, but would continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy unless and until it is amended. We may share your information with our parent, subsidiaries and joint ventures to help coordinate any Service we provide to you, and to enforce our terms and conditions.

YOUR RIGHTS

You benefit from a number of rights in relation to your information that we process. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. We describe these rights below.

 

In certain cases, such as for access to, rectification or deletion of your information, please be sure to read the options you have under the ‘Transparency & Your Choices’ section above.

 

Access and porting

You can access much of your Storied.ai information by logging into your Storied.ai account. For EU member accounts, if you require additional access or if you are not currently a Storied.ai member, email us at michael@storied.ai to request a copy of your Storied.ai information. Where legally required, we will provide your information in an easily accessible format and assist in transferring some of this information to third parties.

 

Rectify, restrict, delete

You can also rectify, restrict, or delete much of your Storied.ai information by logging into your Storied.ai account. If you cannot do this or you do not have a Storied.ai account, please contact us at michael@storied.ai. As described above in ‘Transparency & Your Choices’, you have a number of options to rectify, restrict or delete your information, including your Storied.ai account.

 

Object

If we process your information based on our legitimate interests explained above, or in the public interest, and you have an EU member account, you can object to this processing in certain circumstances. In such cases, we will cease processing your information unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue processing or where it is needed for legal reasons. Where we use your data for direct marketing, you can always object by using the unsubscribe link in such communications, changing your email account settings or, if you do not have an account, by contacting us at michael@storied.ai.

 

Revoke consent

You can withdraw your consent to email marketing by using the unsubscribe link in such communications. You can also revoke any consent you have provided to us for our collection of your geolocation information by changing the settings on your mobile device. In addition, if you have an EU member account and you have previously provided your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your information at any time. 

 

If you withdraw your consent to the use of your information for the purposes set out in this Policy, you may not have access to all (or any) of our Services and we might not be able to provide you all (or any) of the Services under this Policy and our Member Agreement. In certain cases, we may continue to process your information after you have withdrawn consent if we have a legal basis to do so, or if your withdrawal of consent was limited to certain processing activities.

 

Complain

If you have an EU member account and wish to raise a concern about our use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local supervisory authority or Storied.ai’s lead supervisory authority, the Irish Data Protection Commission.

 

TRANSPARENCY & YOUR CHOICES

People have different privacy concerns. Our goal is to be clear about what information we collect so that you can make meaningful choices about how it is used.

 

• Customer provides us with instructions on what to do with Customer Data. A Customer has many choices and control over Customer Data. For example, the Customer may provision or deprovision access to the Services, enable or disable third-party integrations, manage access to groups or individuals for content shared through the Services. Since these choices and instructions may result in the access, use, disclosure, modification or deletion of certain or all Customer Data, please review the applicable Platform or Services pages for more information about these choices and instructions. You may delete all of your Customer data by requesting that your account is deleted. We will retain no record of any personal data, usage data or other information.

 

• Your mobile device may provide you with choices around how and whether location or other data is collected and shared. Storied.ai does not control these choices, or default settings, which are offered by makers of your browser or mobile device operating system.

 

• EU data subjects are granted rights under the General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR). We are the Processor of information on behalf of its Customers which act as controllers of the information and as such are responsible for directing Storied.ai to process such data.  

  1. Subject to any exemptions provided by law, you may have the right to request access to this Information, as well as to seek to update, delete or correct this Information. You can usually do this using the settings and profile tools provided in your Storied.ai account. 

  2. If you cannot use the settings and tools to view, edit, delete, transfer, or otherwise restrict our use of their Personal Information, contact Customer Support for additional access and assistance at: michael@storied.ai, Attn: Privacy Officer.

 

• We will retain your Personal Information for only as long as needed to fulfill the purposes for which it is collected. We will retain and use your Personal Information as necessary to comply with our business requirements, legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect our assets and enforce agreements to which Storied.ai is a party.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

 

Storied.ai does not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not use our services or provide any information to us through the Services. 

 

If we discover that we have collected any personally identifiable information from a child under the age of thirteen (13), we will delete such information from our servers immediately.

 

Visitors between the ages of thirteen (13) and eighteen (18) must obtain permission from one of their parents or guardians before using any aspect of the website, or submitting any personally identifiable information to the website.

PERSONAL DATA TRANSFER, PROCESSING & STORAGE

 

We may transfer your Personal Information to to any Storied.ai affiliate entity worldwide or to third-party business partners, providers, vendors, or contractors, that are located inside or outside of the EU/EEA, for purposes described in the section PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE above, including for the purpose of data processing or storage on behalf and under the control of Storied.ai.

 

Storied.ai implements cross-borders transfers in compliance with applicable privacy and data protection regulations, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of personal data (“GDPR”). Where mandated by applicable law, to ensure that your Personal Information does receive an adequate level of protection, Storied.ai implements the appropriate measures to ensure that your Personal Information is treated across Storied.ai affiliated entities and by the aforementioned third parties in a way that is consistent with and which respects the applicable privacy and data protection laws. Measures include the following:

 

• Storied.ai offers European Union Model Clauses, also known as Standard Contractual Clauses, to meet the adequacy and security requirements for our Customers that operate in the European Union, and other international transfers of Customer Data. A copy of our standard data processing addendum, incorporating Model Clauses, is available here.

 

Data transfers

If you live outside the United States, we transfer Personal Information outside the EU in accordance with EU data protection law, including where it is necessary to provide the Services. We may transfer your information to affiliates, partners and other third parties.

 

Standard contractual clauses

We may use a legal mechanism known as “standard contractual clauses” to protect information transferred outside the EU. Standard contractual clauses refer to contracts between companies transferring Personal Information (for example, from Storied.ai EMEA Limited to Storied.ai, Inc.) that contain standard commitments approved by the EU Commission protecting the privacy and security of the information transferred. Accountability for Onward Transfer

In the event we transfer personal data to a third party acting as a controller, we will do so consistent with any notice provided to data subjects and any consent they have given, and only if the third party has given us contractual assurances that it will (i) process the personal data for limited and specified purposes consistent with any consent provided by the Users, (ii) provide at least the same level of protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles and notify us if it makes a determination that it cannot do so; and (iii) cease processing of the personal data or take other reasonable and appropriate steps to remediate if it makes such a determination. If Storied.ai has knowledge that a third party acting as a controller is processing personal data covered by the Privacy Shield Framework in a way that is contrary to the Privacy Shield Principles, Storied.ai will take reasonable steps to prevent or stop such processing.

 

With respect to our agents, we will transfer only the personal data covered by this Privacy Shield Policy needed for an agent to deliver to Storied.ai the requested product or service. Furthermore, we will (i) permit the agent to process such personal data only for limited and specified purposes; (ii) require the agent to provide at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles; (iii) take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure that the agent effectively processes the personal data transferred in a manner consistent with Storied.ai’s obligations under the Privacy Shield Principles; and (iv) require the agent to notify Storied.ai if it makes a determination that it can no longer meet its obligation to provide the same level of protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles. Upon receiving notice from an agent that it can no longer meet its obligation to provide the same level of protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles, we will take reasonable and appropriate steps to stop and remediate unauthorized processing.

 

Storied.ai remains liable under the Privacy Shield Principles if an agent processes personal data covered by this Privacy Shield Policy in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, except where Storied.ai is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
 

Data Processing

Storied.ai processes Personal Information on our servers in many countries around the world. We may process your Personal Information on a server located outside the country where you live.
 

Data Retention

Unless specified above in the section PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE.  We retain your information in our server logs, our databases, and our records for as long as necessary to provide the Services. 

 

We may need to retain some of your information for a longer period, such as in order to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes or defend against legal claims, or to enforce our Terms of Service. We may retain your verification-related information for a reasonable period of time (even if you do not complete all verification steps) to assist with future verifications and to prevent abuse of our verification processes. If you decide not to verify the account and would like us to delete the verification information you provided, contact us at michael@storied.ai.

 

LINKS TO OTHER SITES

Storied.ai contains links to a wide variety of websites, including some which may not follow the same privacy policies as Storied.ai.  Your activities on those third-party websites will be solely governed by the privacy policies and procedures of those third parties. 

 

Storied.ai is not responsible for the privacy policies of those other sites or how they treat information about their users. Users who choose to follow links from Storied.ai, should make themselves familiar with target sites’ privacy policies.

 

COMMUNICATIONS

Choice and Opt Out

Storied.ai may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send.

 

We may send you service communications relating to the Services we provide you via email (e.g. to inform you about changes to the product or service you requested from us, revisions of our terms and conditions or this Policy). As such service communications are necessary for the purposes of providing you with our Services or complying with out legal obligations, you will not be able to opt-out from receiving them.

 

Customer Support

When you contact Storied.ai, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues you might be facing. We may use your email address to inform you about our services, such as letting you know about upcoming changes or improvements.

 

Push Notifications

We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or the Application. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.

 

YOUR RIGHTS

Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits customers who are California residents and who have provided Storied.ai with “Personal Information” (as that term is defined in Section 1798.83) to request certain information about the disclosure of that information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.  Storied.ai is committed to protecting your information and we take appropriate commercially reasonable physical, electronic, administrative, and other technical security measures to help safeguard Personal Information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure, loss, theft, or misuse.

Storied.ai relies on reasonable measures to safeguard Personal Information in our possession, including:

• Use of industry-standard measures and processes for detecting and responding to inappropriate attempts to breach our computer systems and networks.

 

The Internet and any communication thereon cannot be guaranteed to be secure at all times, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any Personal Information you provide us through this technology. In this regard, we have procedures to deal with any suspected Personal Information security breach and will notify you and any regulator of a suspected breach in accordance with the relevant applicable laws.

APPLICATION

Our Privacy Policy applies to all of the services offered by Storied.ai, Inc. and its affiliates, including services offered on other sites, but excludes services that have separate privacy policies that do not incorporate this Privacy Policy.

 

Our Privacy Policy does not apply to services offered by other companies or individuals, sites that may include Storied.ai Services or other sites linked from our services. Our Privacy Policy does not cover the information practices of other companies and organizations who advertise our services, and who may use cookies, pixel tags and other technologies to serve and offer relevant ads.
 

Accountability for Onward Transfer

In the event we transfer personal data covered by the Privacy Shield Framework to a third party acting as a controller, we will do so consistent with any notice provided to data subjects and any consent they have given, and only if the third party has given us contractual assurances that it will (i) process the personal data for limited and specified purposes consistent with any consent provided by the Data Subjects, (ii) provide at least the same level of protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles and notify us if it makes a determination that it cannot do so; and (iii) cease processing of the personal data or take other reasonable and appropriate steps to remediate if it makes such a determination. If Storied.ai has knowledge that a third party acting as a controller is processing personal data covered by the Privacy Shield Framework in a way that is contrary to the Privacy Shield Principles, Storied.ai will take reasonable steps to prevent or stop such processing.

 

With respect to our agents, we will transfer only the personal data covered by this Privacy Shield Policy needed for an agent to deliver to Storied.ai the requested product or service. Furthermore, we will (i) permit the agent to process such personal data only for limited and specified purposes; (ii) require the agent to provide at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles; (iii) take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure that the agent effectively processes the personal data transferred in a manner consistent with Storied.ai’s obligations under the Privacy Shield Principles; and (iv) require the agent to notify Storied.ai if it makes a determination that it can no longer meet its obligation to provide the same level of protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles. Upon receiving notice from an agent that it can no longer meet its obligation to provide the same level of protection as is required by the Privacy Shield Principles, we will take reasonable and appropriate steps to stop and remediate unauthorized processing.

 

Storied.ai remains liable under the Privacy Shield Principles if an agent processes personal data covered by this Privacy Shield Policy in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, except where Storied.ai is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

 

Enforcement

We regularly review our compliance with our Privacy Policy. When we receive formal written complaints, we will contact the person who made the complaint to follow up. We work with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that we cannot resolve with our users directly.

 

Storied.ai may disclose Personal Information if required to do so by law or if it believes, in its reasonable discretion, that such disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with the law or with legal process, (b) protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the Storied.ai website or (c) protect the personal safety or property of Storied.ai website users, the public or Storied.ai employees or agents.  We may also disclose your Personal Information in the event that we, in good faith, believe such disclosure is appropriate to cooperate in investigations of fraud or other illegal activity.

 

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

By using Storied.ai Services, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy. Storied.ai reserves the right to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this Policy at any time and without prior notice, and any changes will become effective immediately upon being posted unless we advise you otherwise. 

 

However, we will not use your Personal Information or Customer Data in a way that is materially different than the uses described in this Policy without giving you an opportunity to opt out of such differing uses. Your continued use of the Platform or Services after this Policy has been amended shall be deemed to be your continued acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Policy, as amended.
